Charlotte Startup Weekend was an incredible experience
I was definitely inspired by the spirit of entrepreneurialism when I attended Charlotte Startup Weekend that was held at Packard Place May 13-15 2011. Here are some reasons why I found it to be exciting, enlightening and educational.
1. Creativity- The ideas that were pitched at Startup Charlotte were fresh, innovative and creative.
2. Concept Development- After the ideas were chosen and the teams were formed, it was to see the teams begin to storyboard and develop their workflow for their respective projects.
3. Collaboration- It was amazing watching the collaboration of each team as they worked towards executing their ideas. Every team had each member in their expertise and they worked tirelessly to achieve the deadline with a functioning product at the end of the competition. It was awesome to see web designers, & developers, programmers and graphic designers all under one roof functioning as small corporations.
4. Camaraderie- It was clear that each team worked together towards their common goal. I met several of Charlotte’s most brilliant and talented people and made several great connections.
5.Completed Projects- The finalized products that each team produced were outstanding. It was very thrilling to see each team discuss and demonstrate the functionality of their apps. I really hope each team continues to pursue their ideas and bring them to the market.
The Letter Jacket Apps Team
My team worked on an application which would provide users with immediate access to High School sports scores in real-time. My assignment was to create a video commercial which would showcase the app. Below is the link to the completed video.
